A Bit About Me

Vikash Reddy, Ph.D. is a higher education researcher based in Los Angeles, California, with over 15 years of experience researching racial equity in higher education policy. In January 2025, Dr. Reddy founded his own consulting organization, dedicated to supporting education equity advocates around the country in their efforts to tell the stories of the people and communities they are supporting.

Dr. Reddy previously served as the Vice President of Research at the Campaign for College Opportunity, where he led the organization’s research department for over five years. During this time, he helped lead a national response to the Supreme Court’s decision in the Students for Fair Admissions cases by co-editing a series of 18 policy briefs, written by experts from around the country, focused on actionable, research-backed reforms for national, state, and local leaders. In his capacity at the Campaign, Dr. Reddy managed the publication of 50 reports, briefs, articles, book chapters, and op-eds, authoring or co-authoring 15 publications; and he oversaw research related to implementation of statewide reforms to community college placement processes and to community-college-to-four-year transfer policy in California.

Prior to that, Dr. Reddy was a policy analyst at the California Policy Lab at UC Berkeley, where he worked with state agency partners to conduct randomized control trials, analyze data that agencies were already collecting, and look for ways to leverage data linkages between state agencies. He was previously a senior research associate at the Community College Research Center at Teachers College, Columbia University.

Dr. Reddy presently serves as a member of the California Cradle2Career Commission’s Data and Tools Advisory Board, and he has previously served as a member of the advisory board to the California Commission on Asian and Pacific Islander Americans Affair’s Higher Education Committee.

Dr. Reddy has been recognized by Teachers College, Columbia University as a recipient of the 2024 Early Career Award for alumni, and by Diverse Issues in Higher Education as a 2022 Emerging Scholar. His work has been influential in the passage of legislation in California and the adoption of reforms at colleges and universities in the state.

Dr. Reddy earned his Ph.D. in Education Policy from Teachers College, Columbia University. He holds a Masters in Elementary Teaching from Pace University and a BA in Government from Dartmouth College.

When he isn’t at his desk, Vikash enjoys running trails, pondering his next big trip, and spoiling his doggie with beef jerky.
